Description

Do you want to learn how to defend and explain…

  • The existence of God…
  • The reliability of the Bible…
  • The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist…
  • The authority of the pope and the Church…
  • and scores of other truths that we Catholics believe— but you don’t have a lot of time?

Don’t worry. Jimmy Akin has done the hard work for you.

All you need is five minutes a day.

In A Daily Defense, Jimmy compiles 366 challenges that Catholics often hear from skeptics and non-Catholics—about God, Jesus, Scripture, morality, Mary, history, and a host of doctrines—and teaches you how to answer them.

Combining deep learning with decades of experience explaining Catholic belief and practice on a popular level, he cuts to the heart of each subject, offering pithy but powerful replies that are both effective and easy to master.

A Daily Defense is perfect reading before bed or during breakfast, for down time or prayer time, part of a regular routine or picked up on the go.

Whatever your day is like, spending just a few minutes in these pages is guaranteed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to defend the Catholic Faith.

A Great Book for Defending The Faith and for Strengthening One's Own Faith

Posted by Nolan Pollio on Jun 9th 2022

Jimmy Akin does a great job giving succinct answers to a wide array of questions one may have about Catholicism. The book is laid out as having one question a day for 365 (plus one!) days. Each page has a different objection and an answer to that objection. If you just read one page per day you will definitely be a better apologist by the end! There are oftentimes also helpful tips or referrals to further reading if you want to go more in-depth on a question. It's also great to come back to questions if you need to brush up on how to respond to certain objections. This is a great book to better equip yourself to be able to defend our Faith against objections and also to strengthen our own foundations as Catholics.

    Great daily read

I’ve been reading this over the year. It’s a good way to get a taste of different ways to respond to common objections against the faith. Jimmy even gives extra sources to explore for subjects that need more explanation.

    A great way to learn

The idea of taking small bites is really well done in this book. The ability to get a small chunk each day to then let it stew inside helps. This is something that can offer a lot of help in dealing with both helping others but also yourself
