Description

In 312 AD, Emperor Constantine beheld the Chi Rho, Christ’s holy sign, in a vision, with the words: In hoc signo vinces—“In this sign, you will conquer.” Marking his soldiers’ shields, he claimed victory at the Milvian Bridge, securing his reign and opening the empire to Christianity. The following year, the Edict of Milan spread this newfound faith, with the Chi Rho standing as a radiant symbol of divine favor that would forever change the course of history.
