Save Over 45% on Three Great Books By Catholic Apologist Joe Heschmeyer!
- Pope Peter: Joe Heschmeyer says that papal flaws are an opportunity to understand what the papacy really means, not to abandon it (or the Church). Drawing deeply on the scriptural and historical witness, he offers a thorough but accessible defense of the papal office and an edifying picture of the extent—and limits—of its authority.
- The Early Church Was the Catholic Church: Focusing on the first two centuries (before any Roman “apostasy” is said to have taken place) and bedrock principles of Christian belief, authority, and worship, Heschmeyer digs deep into the words and actions of those who lived right after the apostles to refute anti-Catholic claims of how the Faith was practiced “back then.”
- The Eucharist is Really Jesus: In The Eucharist Is Really Jesus, author Joe Heschmeyer first explains how Catholic belief in the Eucharist is biblical and reasonable. If you’re used to thinking of Communion as a purely symbolic ritual, you’ll find here a compelling defense of the ancient doctrine of the Real Presence.

Great set of books!
I enjoyed reading these three books by Catholic apologist Joe Heshmeyer! It was largely thanks to his YouTube videos that I started to deconstruct what I thought I knew about the Catholic faith (taught to me by Protestant pastors and friends). I had high hopes for these books, and for the most part they did not disappoint! Pope Peter was my favorite. It truly convinced me that the Catholic church is the one true church through its skillful presentation of the evidence. The Early church is the Catholic Church was an excellent supplement to Pope Peter and continued to strengthen my understanding of early Christian life. The Eucharist is Really Jesus was probably the most disappointing of the three books, mostly because I found it somewhat slow or hard to read at times. That said, it contained many helpful insights, such as in the chapter about saints and the explanation of the New Covenant! Overall, I would purchase these books again and I would encourage anyone to do so. I will say that I probably wouldn't dive into these as your first exposure to Catholic Apologetics as it helps if you already have some basic understanding of the church. But not all resources need to be written for beginners. I found what I was looking for: an in depth analysis of the Catholic Church's Most controversial claims.
