The Good News Starts Here
Can we really know who wrote the Gospels and when?
What are some of the different ways that Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell the story of Jesus?
Why are other ancient “gospels” not part of the canon of the Bible? Did the Church try to suppress them?
How can the Gospels be inspired when there are so many differences and contradictions in them—especially between the synoptics and John?
In this booklet you’ll find smart, solid answers to these questions and many more.
Almost everything we know about Jesus and his ministry on earth comes from these four short books that Christians revere as the culmination of God’s saving revelation to humanity. They are the most studied and discussed documents in history, yet many Christians don’t know enough about where they came from and what they say. 20 Answers: the Gospels is the perfect starter for anyone needing a refresher in these inspired texts (or an introduction to them) that are essential to knowing and loving Christ.
The 20 Answers series from Catholic Answers offers hard facts, compelling arguments, and clear explanations of the most important topics facing the Church and the world—all in a compact, easy-to-read package.

This was the first 20 Answers Booklet I read and it was a great place to start. I learned much more about the Gospel writers and the theories behind them than I had ever known.
