We recognize St. Peter as the first pope and as someone who learns who he is in light of discovering who Christ is.
The Catholic Answers School of Apologetics course Biblical Images of Peter will cover some of that ground, but we’ll mostly explore Peter from a different perspective. Instead of starting with a big theme like the papacy or identity, we’re going to follow the spiritual journey of Peter in a chronological way.
We begin with lessons on the call of Peter, followed by a focus on his character during his ministry with Jesus. We will also explore different aspects of Matthew 16, including the fascinating conversation between Jesus and Peter at Caesarea Philippi, and then delve into Peter’s time during the first Holy Week and Easter, and his ministry after Christ’s ascension.
This course aims not only to teach us about Peter’s life but also to allow us to connect our spiritual lives with one of Christ’s apostles and the rock of our Church. We hope you join us!
